Basically it's made with cake mix, shortening, semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, pecans, and Rice Krispies. An odd mix, to be sure, but mmmm.

ReplyDeleteYay, this is an adorable apron. My grandma's chocolate chip cookies are great. Apparently they are made from the tollhouse recipe, but your butter has to be softened at room temp, no microwave. I have only succeeded once recreating them. I also recently have started liking pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.

Also Hundreds and Thousands cookies.
There is a local store that makes oatmeal cookies that are a little sweet and a little salty....chewy and delicious!!

It is a Cooking Light recipe so go ahead and eat half the batch, I always do. There just is nothing wrong with a cooking with two frostings is there? And almond extract? YUM!

Lovely apron! thanks so much for the chance to win. My favorite cookies are Mark Bittman's Butterscotch Blondies from "How to Cook Everything." I make them with 1/4 cup bourbon, chocolate chips, and chopped up crystallized ginger and they're always a huge hit. Also good -- mixing in a mashed up banana and a mixture of peanut butter and chocolate chips into the basic recipe. YUM!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite cookies are my Grammy's Famous Snowball Cookies, which are better than any other snowball cookies I've had - probably because she uses twice the butter as most other recipes :) I am posting the recipe tomorrow on my blog with some of my other family Christmas faves.
Cookies are my favorite indulgence. I love the Chocolate-Ginger cookies in an old (1997) Martha Stewart LIving mag...they're my go-to cookies. Thanks for the prize!

peanut butter chocolate chip! we took are regular peanut butter cookie recipe and changed it a bit to make them and they are soooooo good. they don't last long in our house and friends are always requesting them. and just an added note: my sister would love that apron!!!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite cookie is the chocolate crinkle cookie. I could stuff my mouth with them! Here's the link. My mom always made tins of them for Christmas and kept them on the dining room table -- and I was always sneaking in and out of there to try and soundlessly open the tin and sneak a cookie!

ReplyDeleteWow! Not only is the apron adorable but the post below this, those are my favorite cookies! No bake cookies. I remember my grandmother making them when my brother and I were young. She would get so mad when we would sneak into the kitchen and take one before the cookies were set completely.
